The Football NSW Social Media Policy is in line with other sporting organisations. Social media offers the opportunity for people to gather in online communities to share and consume content. From a governing body perspective, it is important for Football NSW on one hand to recognise the benefits of social media as an important tool of engagement but also to protect the reputation of our sport, organisation and membership. Kind Regards,
Jake Sondaar Media Manager Doonside Hawks Soccer Club The Western Sydney Wanderers are no strangers to hundreds of fans but they may have their work cut out for them this weekend.
Kearyn Baccus, Dimas Delgado, Scott Jamieson and Jackson Bandiera will be at local clubs on Saturday morning to meet players and officials, help with junior clinics and make memories. Parklea FC president Michael Carraro said players and parents are “really excited” to meet Spanish midfielder Dimas. “They’re excited to get up close and personal with a quality footballer,” he said. “It’s good for the Wanderers, good for the club and good for the whole football family to have A-League clubs involved at a grassroots level.” Mr Carroro said Parklea FC has supported the Wanderers since the early days, and had Aaron Mooy and Labinot Haliti visit “before they kicked a ball in anger”. Blacktown Workers FC secretary Brett Fielding said he expects a lot of senior players to show up for the visit from Baccus, as well as the juniors. “The kids love it when their idols come down,” he said. “They’re very giving with their time, very patient, and they actually enjoying watching the kids play and seeing the skill level.” Wanderers community engagement manager Josh Hunter said he hopes days like Saturday become an annual occurrence. “It has been our focus from day one to engage with local, grassroots football,” he said. “The players will get a lot out of it and the kids will be excited to see them. They’ll be hoping to inspire them to continue with football and pursue their dream.” PLAYER MEET & GREETS Scott Jamieson and Jackson Bandiera Glendenning Reserve, Golding Dr, Glendenning (Doonside Hawks), 9:30am – 11am Kearyn Baccus Laybutt Reserve, Blacktown (Blacktown Workers FC), 9:30am – 11am Dimas Morgan Power Reserve, Kings Langley (Parklea FC), 9.30am – 11am Read the full article here - http://www.blacktownsun.com.au/story/4041321/getting-to-grassroots/?cs=1557 The State, Robertson and Bill Cullinan Cups knock-out tournaments are conducted by Football NSW for Association based male and female teams and Country Association representative or club teams.

Let's get behind our Doonside teams! #DHSCstatecup Doonside Hawks Achieves Level 1 AccreditationWhat is the NCAS?
The National Club Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) is a program that aims to raise the standards of grassroots football clubs by recognising and rewarding clubs that have, or put in place, measures which ultimately contributes to quality football experiences for players, volunteers and parents. Fundamentally, clubs play the key role in the development of football in Australia. In order to raise the overall standard of club administration at all levels of the game, a clear model that identifies and recognizes best practice in all areas of club administration will be rolled out across Australia. The NCAS will provide an accreditation rating scheme for grassroots football clubs as identified in the National Game Development Strategy. This will set guidelines and criteria for best-practice models which can be replicated in clubs throughout the country. Similar programs and initiatives have been delivered by a number of National Sporting Organisations in Australia, by the Football Association in the United Kingdom, as well as by other major European football nations. These club accreditation initiatives have successfully raised standards at the grassroots level and assisted in developing a greater connection between clubs and their National Sporting Organisations. Who is the NCAS aimed at? Community or grassroots football clubs currently constitute 92% of all clubs involved in football delivery. These are clubs whose primary focus is on providing opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to enjoy football. Only clubs who are currently registered with FFA through the MyFootballClub system will be eligible to apply for accreditation through the NCAS. Positive signs: Blacktown District Soccer Football Association chief executive Jack Taylor, at headquarters at Blacktown Football Park, Rooty Hill, is happy about the rise in participation in the association. Picture: Isabella Lettini Blacktown District Soccer Football Association enjoyed a good year in 2015, seeing a 10 per cent increase in player participation.
Figures for Blacktown reflect a surge in numbers across all Football NSW competitions. Football NSW had 324,601 participants, 8 per cent above 2014. With 10,200 players spread across 22 clubs, Blacktown was one of four associations, with Canterbury, Macarthur and Eastern Suburbs, to record a 10 per cent increase in numbers. It is welcome news for the Blacktown association's' chief executive Jack Taylor, who said it was the best annual growth they have experienced. Taylor said he believed the popularity of the A-League, as well as the performances of the Socceroos at the Asian Cup and the Matildas at the World Cup. have led to more people wanting to be involved in the game. Another important factor was the formation of an under-20s men's competition, which was held for the first time this year. "We'd always had a difficulty in retaining boys in their late teenage years," Taylor said. "In the past, we'd have had between 120 and 180 in that age bracket, but with the formation of an under-20s division, we had 500 players across the comp." Blacktown falls behind the state average for female participation, with males taking up 83 per cent of all players. "We have tried so hard to increase female numbers, but it hasn't worked," Taylor said. "But we're going to try the under-20s from next year, like we did with the men, and see if we can keep them around." Taylor the addition of a new club at Ropes Crossing was a good sign. By Patrick Fahy (Blacktown Sun) Football was high on the agenda at a recent council meeting at Blacktown as PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 1 Premiers Blacktown City and PUMA Champion of Champions winning clubs Doonside Hawks’ 21 Women and Polonia Rams’ 21 Men’s team were all awarded congratulatory plaques. Blacktown Mayor Stephen Bali was on hand to award all three clubs their silverware after each team’s memorable achievements this season. Blacktown City FC had a year to remember as they took out the 2015 PS4 NPL NSW Men’s 1 Premiership along with the PS4 NPL Finals Series crowning Mark Crittenden’s side as the best state league team in Australia. On hand to accept the award was club captain Zach Cairncross who played a pivotal role in Blacktown City’s success. The Blacktown Mayor further highlighted Blacktown City’s achievements which brought much cheer to the football mad area. "This is the first time a team from our great city has won this prestigious competition," he told the Blacktown Sun. "The winner can claim the title of the best football club in Australia outside the Hyundai A-League. "It's a real case of the underdogs taking on and thrashing the favourites." "Its real success isn't measured by trophies won but by helping players reach potential." Doonside Hawks were rewarded for their efforts in taking out the 21 Women PUMA Champion of Champions title after defeating the Miranda Magpies 2-0 while Polonia Rams’ 21 Men’s team went on to collect their title with a 3-1 victory over Lilli Pilli FC at this year’s finals played at Valentine Sports Park. Three people I would love to invite to dinner: Nikolai Topov-Stanley, Adam Sandler and Channing Tatum. My most embarrassing moment: Jumped off a wall at Woodcroft Shops and fell flat on my face. My kids and other people were around. A motorist stopped to make sure I was OK then decided to start lecturing me! I just got up and continued walking. My first car: A Suzuki 800 — it was my little green machine. My last meal would be: Thai green curry prawns. What people may not know about me is: I left school and worked in a bank for 17 years, then nervously went to the NSW Police Force as a public servant and now work for Transport for NSW in a position I never thought I would ever hold. Especially for someone who left school in year 10. I wish I hadn't: Waited so long to start travelling. My earliest memory is: When I was little I went fishing off the rocks with my dad at Maroubra. I saw what I thought to be a cat. Luckily for me my dad saw it . . . it was a very big rat! A movie I think everyone should see: Blended with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. The one thing I will never throw out: A garden gnome that was painted for me many years ago just before the first of our grand final soccer wins. A lucky gnome. If I could have a super power it would be: To know what the person in front of me is thinking My fantasy job: My fantasy job would be to earn what I earn now but to be more involved in the soccer industry. The best advice I ever received: I could achieve anything I put my mind to. If I was down to my last $10 I would spend it on: my family…they always come first The most amazing thing I‘ve ever done is: I became a soccer coach for the Doonside Hawks Soccer Club almost 8 years ago. I coached both boys and girls teams. I have coached some amazing kids over the years and can proudly say that for three years in a row my boy’s team won the Grand Finals. I have also managed teams, joined the committee and play in a women’s team – never too old to play!! On my bedside table is: A lamp, alarm clock, pretty boring actually! A goal either side of the break was enough for Blacktown District side Doonside
Hawks to be crowned 21 Women Champion of Champions against the Miranda Magpies from the Sutherland Shire. It was a real battle in midfield in this one with both the Magpies and Hawks fighting hard for the ball. It was Demi Francis though who opened the scoring for the Hawks early in the first half with a calm finish from the edge of the area to put them 1-0 up. The Magpies regathered and picked themselves up after going behind, creating a few half chances that they failed to convert into goals. After the break Nina Jurisic showed she can hit a set piece, almost putting the Hawks further in front, only for her curling free kick to smack against the bar. Jurisic was in the mood and probably should’ve put her side further ahead but Rachel Blanch made a great save for the Magpies. Jurisic wouldn’t be denied for too much longer though, capitalising on a mistake from Blanch to tap home the ball and put the Hawks 2-0 up. It was all Jurisic and she came close to getting her second but the ball came off the post from a header. Maccabi Hakoah 1 Two goals from Nina Jursic helped to lead the Hawks to a comeback victory against a well organised Maccabi Hakoah side in the 21 Women contest. It was a hot morning in Blacktown for both sides, as Doonside and Maccabi played out a spirited game on Blacktown Football Park 2. Doonside had the first opportunity Diarna Lombardo, who was a constant nuisance for the Maccabi defence in the opening half. She caught a defender dwelling on the ball, drifting in and flashing a shot wide in the 13th minute. After that shot, Maccabi shaded possession with their constant hassling of the Doonside defenders with Tamara Viner winning several key balls down the line. Their pressure off the ball paid off, as Nicole Zwalen found some space on the edge of the box, putting in a strike that hit the crossbar and across the line in the 23rd minute. The Hawks were stung into action after conceding, with Lombardo having a second attempt deflected for a corner. Doonside worked into the game, dominating possession from Maccabi who were wasteful after their goal. Nina Jursic fired a warning shot in the 33rd minute. She was played through before curling an effort that went wide. The forward who was moved to a solitary up front position, was tireless in her work all game peppering the keeper. It was a more deft effort from Jursic in the 39th minute when a tempting cross from the right, fell right onto her foot to slot the ball home. Six minutes later Jursic nearly made it a brace, as once again she broke into the penalty area but under some defensive pressure bent it wide. Jursic and Mikalya Harris had chances but weren’t able to convert. Jursic finally had her brace in the 57th minute. The errant passing once again found Maccabi out as Jursic was played in to smash it home. It was the opposing forward for Maccabi, Gabrielle Rosenberg who was the most likely to bring the game level. She had two efforts including a 59th minute effort that forced a scrambling effort from Pheara Ban and despite the result was constantly involved. Doonside saw out the last few minutes of the game, forcing a good save from Arielle Gold from a free-kick, taking the Champion of Champions title over Maccabi.
